• Student’s name and age

• Payment information (processed securely by Stripe)

• Lesson attendance and progress notes

We do not store or have access to your full payment card details — these are handled directly and securely by Stripe.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

• Manage lesson schedules and group placements

• Communicate with parents and send updates or reminders

• Process payments through Stripe

• Monitor lesson attendance and student progress

• Share information or announcements through our social media pages (Facebook and Instagram)

• Improve the quality of our teaching and customer service

4. How We Store and Protect Your Data

Your information is stored securely using Google Workspace tools (Google Drive, Google Sheets, and Google Forms).

Access is restricted to authorised Lantern to English staff and tutors only.

We take appropriate measures to protect all data from unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure.

5. Sharing of Information

We only share limited information where necessary:

• With teachers: student’s first name, age, and relevant learning notes.

• With service providers: such as Stripe (for payments) and Google (for hosting and communication).

We do not sell, trade, or rent personal data to any third parties.

6. Data Retention

We keep records only as long as necessary for educational or legal purposes.

If you cancel lessons, your details are usually deleted within six months, except for payment records required by UK tax law.

7. International Data Transfers

Although most of our customers are in the UAE and other GCC countries, all personal data is stored securely on servers operated by Google and Stripe, both of which comply with UK and EU data protection standards.

8. Your Rights (Under UK Law)

You have the right to:

• Request a copy of your data

• Ask us to correct or delete inaccurate information

• Withdraw consent for communications (WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, or email)

• File a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you believe your data has been misused
